Approximately 8-3/4 inches / 22 cm wide.

The Crown's reel locations are reversed (the supply reel is on the right and the takeup reel is on the left). Thus, tapes made on almost every other cheap recorder of the era play backwards on this unit. I don't suppose it mattered much at the time; interchangeability from one recorder to another wasn't something most users even thought of.
